"I sometimes wonder whether I am a scholar at all," said Miss Lydgate. "It's all clear in my head, you know, but I get muddled when I put it down on paper." (Sayers; Gaudy Night, p.34)
As my mind is working non stop on my dissertation, I feel I deserve twenty minutes of Lord Peter Wimsey on the metro to and fro the university library. This morning I felt the book speaking to me. I do not have huge doubts about becoming an academic, but I do find it hard to make every thing clear on paper. It is incredibly difficult to get clever ideas to look clever on paper.
