Ligature
I have been to the print shop this morning to sign the proof sheet for the printing of my letter paper. Yes, I am of the old fashioned kind that would like my name on my writing paper. This is the fourth time I have been there to discuss my letterhead, but next week it will be ready to pick up. I really look forward to that.
I have now decided on a nice font (Bookman Modern, I think, but cannot find it on the web. It is a font with strong serifs), but I am a bit dissapointed that they would not let me have a ligature of the st in Kristine. Ligature is the linking of letters. Normal fonts will have f and i melt together in fi. Some fonts, however, will have special links in ct, st, ff and others. I have not found a webpage explaining ligatures but this PDF glyf sheet of Minion Pro will give you an example of ligatures.
